The goodbyes begin...

Yes, I realize that this picture makes the universe look all sideways. It´s the stupid flip-the-picture things. I don´t get it.

Me and Miguel, my stylist. He designed my whole look.

Noelia, the girl of my dreams. Seriously, though. She´s a goddess.

After staying up all night with Nico in Madrid, Kate and I arrived back in Granada on Tuesday. Since then, I´ve mainly been spending time with the people I love. Last night, we had a special Tex-Mex night at Michael Landon´s, and basically all of my favorite people were there. Kate and I found matching sparkly Texas t-shirts, I put on a ton of make-up and a trashy mini-skirt, and Colleen and Natalie made SPICY chimichangas. It was a good night.

The smell of pilgrim´s feet in the morning...

The Camino was great, other than possibly causing massive damage to my ankle. Hay que sufrir. We were three intrepid pilgrims (Gameboy, Little Miss Sunhine, and the Pilgrim Reaper) with nothing but the wind in our hair and open road. And all the other crap that we carried.
Apparently, my technological illiteracy knows no bounds, so I can´t figure out how to flip some of my favorite pictures. So I will post more later.

6 O´clock in the morning, in a town called Sárria, we started walking along el Camino de Santiago. It was reeeeaaaalllll nice-like.

Enough time in Spain...

...and you start to become a Catholic.

Well, not so much really, but I am going on a pilgrimage. I got back from Morocco last night and by 6 tomorrow morning I will be on the Camino de Santiago, where I will (penintently) walk 25 km a day for the next five days. Luckily, I will be tere with two of my favorite people from 2 of my different lives, Nico and Kate. So strange when two worlds collide.

I leave for the US in a couple weeks, so I am starting to get anxious. Reverse culture shock is usually harder for me than the other way around, and I am already so neurotic that the next two weeks should put a couple notches in my bite guard (head-gear as some people lovingly call it...)

Pablo!!! Let´s do Sage in June. I´m in. I miss you! Can we build a cabin soon? Or go to the beach??

Salaam..... H

The Masters Are Back

King George (Mission Accomplished) Words by Steve Connell. From www.tellusthemission.org

Same crime different time
King George is back
To bomb Iraq despite how the world reacts
The media is greedier and controls the facts
Makes you wonder if the facts is so white and black
They much grayer
Say your prayers George don´t want calm
He wants to bring this generation to the next Vietnam
Ain´t content to let what´s gone by be by gones
Until he turns Baghdad into Saigon
The bombs they drop don´t stop until Saddam
Is gone, choked, and rotten from the hangman´s tourniquet
In case ya´ll forgotten he´s the bin laden surrogate
Osama´s like brer rabbit and the briar patch is Iraq
he masterminded an attack to force us to fight back
He prayed on the fact we wouldn´t think just react
Like a kid freshly slapped- angry and lashing out at the bully who taunts us
We go forward not knowing we´re going just where he wants us
There are ghosts all around us but they´re not here to haunt us
They´re here to beg us to do better then the people who wronged us
Because the greatest trick the devil ever conceived
Is to make the people believe
That what they strive to achieve
Is connected to the bliss God wants to exist
While the devil sits back laughing crossing things off his list
Saying, God? I got them duped.
They think they´re talking to you.
I got them eager to do everything I need them to
They go to war for peace make love with hate
They kill to protect life and if they don´t feel safe
They surround themselves with danger until there´s no danger left?
How could you create life on a foundation of death
And there´s 53000 dead and rising countless numbers in the hospital
We´ve gone from mission accomplished to mission impossible
To someone please tell me the mission that we´re on
Tell me we haven´t spent the last 6 years going wrong
The good name of America is entirely gone
In the eyes of the world we´re just as bad as Saddam
It´s a game of chess being played that has gone for too long
And I´m afraid because our king is starting to look like their pawn
And Osama´s happy to keep playing because he´s praying for both sides
To the victor goes the genocide so he doesn´t care who gets it
And he brazenly admits it
He´s happy in the Briar Patch, he´s daring us to visit
His mission was to make America his accomplice
If we don´t end the war in Iraq now--Mission Accomplished.
